How To Find The Right Side Hustle

There are so many different way to make more money in today’s world. Sometimes we all just have to be a little bit more creative.

I have held many different jobs in my lifetime: Macy’s, Starbucks, Apple. Just as I have learned different skills so can you. You can learn to do different things.

There is not just one side hustle that is right for you, there may be several. It is just about finding the right one.

What do you know how to do?

What is one task that you know how to do?

– Make a bed

– Create a budget

Find out something that you know how to do and create a course for it.

That is just to get the juices flowing.

There are many different side hustles out there:

– Driving for Uber

– Virtual assistant

– Part time jobs

– Writing

The key to finding the right side hustle is to determine what skills you have and you apply those skills to a side hustle.

I do not like sitting in a car all day so Uber driving would be out for me. But I am a pretty good writer. I have written articles, blogs, books, marketing materials etc.

For me, blog writing, copywriting or social media writing may be a good side hustle.

Write down a list of skills that you currently have. Write down a list of skills that you would like to have.

See if there are any jobs that match those skills. Write down several different job options. Side hustling is about experimentation. You want to find the job that is right for you. Not just the one that makes money. Because you want to be able to do this work over a period of time. If you hate the work that you choose you are not going to want to keep doing or it.

Does your side hustle actually make money?

The gig economy is growing bigger and bigger. There are a lot of businesses that need contractors. They are willing to pay workers for their services on their own time. You can choose to work for a business that pays you money or you can create your own side hustle. The final goal is get as much passive income as possible.

What is passive income?

Passive income is cash flow income an individual earns from owning an asset with little or no effort on the part of the owner. Examples of passive income are:

– Business income

– Rental property

– Stock dividends

Most passive income requires the owner to put in work up front to get the income started and then an automated system takes over with maintenance on the part of the owner.

My favorite form of passive income is stock dividends, because it requires very little maintenance. Many people choose rental property income, because the owner can use leverage in order to amplify their returns.

Business passive income can take time and effort to create. Be patient and keep working on your business and keep thinking of ways that you can automate any work that you are doing.

Now that you know what passive income is and you know what skills you have currently have it is time to experiment.

Experimenting is important.

Remember that you have a list of several different jobs that you could do. Start trying out each job on the list. Some of them will be horrible. Again, driving for Uber would be horrible for me, but great for someone else. Keep testing out jobs until you find one that you have a knack for or one that you would like to learn and get better at.

It also needs to fit your lifestyle. If it does not work with your schedule then dump it. Or find a way to make it work with your schedule.

See if you can make some money at that work. And then see if you can increase the amount of money you make.

Save and invest

Every single time you get paid try and save and/or invest at least 20%. That is the rule.

It is painful.

There are plenty of times that I could have used that money, but right now I am happy that I saved it.

If you do not save and invest you will always have to be side hustling. There will come a day when you just want to lay on the beach or watch Netflix and you can’t because you did not save/invest.

Investing is how you become rich. Put that side hustle money to work.
