There is a lot to know about crypto and this is just scratching the surface.
Things you need to know about crypto investing:
1: All coins are not the same.
They all have different goals.
2: It is not yet detached from the stock market.
Even though coins are not traded on the stock market the two are linked together by the investors.When the stock market declines investor take money out of both the stock market and the crypto market.
3: It does have value.
Crypto is just software. Just like Salesforce as utility so does crypto.Just the idea that you can send and receive money outside of banking business hours and in a short amount of time is a great improvement over the old system.
4: It is not dead
FTX hurt the industry, but this same thing happened in technology. Everyone thought the internet was dead in 2000 and look where it is now and how much value it has created.
5: It is not that easy to trade.
You still need a wallet and it does cost money to trade. It has not become as easy as stocks. yet.
6: All the western democracies will eventually have their own digital currency
The US pretty much already does with credit.
7: You can day trade coins just like stocks
But I think the real money will come from buying and holding just like stocks.
