What is Polkadot?

Polkadot is a blockchain platform designed to facilitate the interoperability and scalability of multiple blockchains. It was created by Gavin Wood, one of the co-founders of Ethereum, with the aim of addressing some of the limitations and challenges faced by existing blockchain networks.

Here are some key features and concepts associated with Polkadot:

  1. Multi-chain Network: Polkadot operates as a heterogeneous multi-chain network, allowing different blockchains to connect and communicate with each other. These interconnected blockchains are referred to as “parachains” and can have different designs, functionalities, and governance models.
