Harness Money Tip #25

The reason that I do not like mutual funds is: Fees

High fees will kill your investment gains. And then when the stock market declines those mutual funds still collect their fees.

If you must invest in mutual funds, only mutual funds are offered in my 401k plan, then choose the fund with the lowest fees possible and then keep you number of funds to a minimum. You do not need 25 different funds to be successful, just one or two great ones that you stick with for the long term.
