When I tell people to track their spending I do not mean to connect your bank account to an app that shows you a pretty graph of all the purchases you made in the last month. That is a nice report.
But tracking your spending means writing down every purchase you make when you make that purchase.
This simple action makes you conscious of where you money is going, how often you are spending and how valuable each purchase you make is. It also gives you the opportunity to write down notes about your purchase so you can go back and remember why you made that one Amazon clothing purchase.
The more you pay attention to your money the hard you can have it work for you.
